 First, here few things to check on your CHARGER:

  • Charger's on/off switch (if applicable) switched to ON.
  • Charger fuse (if applicable) has not been tripped.
  • Power cable plugged in (both ends) SECURELY into charger and wall outlet. (Also, if your wall outlet is "switched"--controlled by a wall switch, make sure the wall switch is flipped ON.)
  • Charger's 3-prong plug not damaged (check prongs, sometimes they get damaged and recede back into plug.)
  • Check your chair's 3-prong outlet for damage and the three holes are intact and clean.
  • Chair cables are all securely connected to each other and to your joystick (if applicable.)
  • If your chair has an "on board" charger, check to see that your power plug fits securely to your chair's port and makes good contact.

If you find no problems after checking the above, it is probably your batteries. After a long life of use, their voltage will eventually drop so low that your charger can no longer add any more power. IT IS PROBABLY TIME TO REPLACE YOUR BATTERIES! We offer several types of service to get you going again. Or SEE THE QUESTION BELOW if you're ONLY interested in getting BATTERIES and/or a CHARGER.


 We suggest you try the following:  

  • LOCKED -- Your chair joystick may have accidentally gotten locked. The locking feature is useful to help prevent theft or for safety reasons if you have small children in your household. Some of the older models use an actual mechanical "key" you insert. And some chairs can be locked/unlocked by running a magnet across the top of the joystick.
  • ERROR OR FAULT CODES -- You may have another issue with your chair, and it is exhibiting an error code. Your owner's manual should contain a list of codes to help you narrow down what the problem is. You figure out which code it is by counting the number of flashes in between the pauses.
  • BRAKE RELEASE LEVER(S) ARE ENGAGED -- Your chair is equipped with manual levers to allow you to manually push (roll) the chair in an emergency should a mechanical failure occur, and you and/or the chair are stranded. They are located somewhere on the bottom unit of the chair. If these brake levers are released your chair will not operate and your joystick may flash. You may check for these levers and try flipping them. But first make sure your chair is not on an incline, as the chair will freewheel in this mode. It could roll on its own and cause injury to the chair and others!


 

What if I need to go out and it's RAINING?

If you find yourself caught the rain, or having to travel even briefly in a rain storm we recommend at LEAST COVERING the parts most sensitive to moisture. If you have a spare PLASTIC BAG put it over the JOYSTICK on your chair, or the HEADSET area on your scooter. Then thoroughly wipe your chair/scooter down when you get to a dry area.


Not only do we service Power Chairs, Scooters, Lift Chairs, and Vehicle Lifts, but we are also a certified dealer for certain manufacturers.


We ARE QUALIFIED and very experienced in installing HARMAR VEHICLE LIFTS and are a Harmar Dealer as well.


We try to call and schedule your service visit within 24 business hours. Then, we find the soonest possible time to visit (usually within a couple of business days) depending on your location and our schedule. If you need parts and/or batteries not in stock it takes about 5-7 days for us to receive them. Then we schedule a return visit to complete your repair. In rare cases parts may have to be back ordered and take longer. You should have your chair or scooter repaired within 10-14 days or sooner if it is something simple.
